Quickstart Instructions

1. Set up an OpenAI API account (Tier 2 and above is preferred)

2. Prepay a bill with OpenAI and after that is submitted, create your API Key

3. Add this API key into your TEAM Settings in Cuppa, which is located in your Team name

4. Build your 1st preset to simplify your content creation for future builds

5. Head to CREATE CONTENT and kick off your 1st article.

Set up your OpenAI API Keys

First step is to sign up for an OpenAI API key.

After signing up for their OpenAI API product, make sure to prepay credits to gain access to the higher tier plans.

Cuppa works best, especially for bulk generation, at the TIER 2 level and above. Please note, as of October 10th, 2024, Tier 2 is $50 paid credits + 7 days to achieve this status (subject to frequent changes).

Important note: OpenAI API is not ChatGPT or ChatGPT+. Important note: FREE API Credits from OpenAI do not work in Cuppa

After you've established your OpenAI API keys, visit your TEAM settings, API Keys, to add your OpenAI API Keys.

If you have a Business plan or higher, you can add multiple API keys to your team account for faster performance.

You can add additional AI models, including Anthropic, Perplexity and Replicate, to your team settings, however, we will visit those instructions later.

At this point, you can start building content already if you want. Just head to Create Content and start testing. However, if you are new to AI content generation, we recommend a couple more steps to set you up for future success.

Important to note: For Cuppa, you always need an OpenAI API key, even if you plan to only use Anthropic Models (Claude). We have a lot of internal prompting that is directed to always the most efficient OpenAI model, currently GPT4o-mini.

Set up your Presets

Cuppa allows you to seamlessly create custom presets for your content builds.

We highly recommend that you set these up early on in your Cuppa content creation journey. Trust us -- you will be glad that you did!

The best way to think of your presets is that they are the instructions that you are giving to the AI before it builds your content. The stronger the instructions, which comes through testing different versions of your presets, leads to stronger AI output.

To get started, head to MY SAVED PRESETs and click into MY PRESETS, CREATE NEW.

Don't worry, this looks more intense than it actually is. Just remember, you are feeding the AI your custom instructions to produce the best output for you. Also note - you should test and try different sets of instructions across different models.

The basic tab is filled with basic instructions to feed the AI.

  • Key Takeaways (your preference if you want to have a bullet point summary of the article)

  • Auto-fetch Research from Perplexity (Power User and Above)

  • Introductions

  • YouTubes

  • Meta Descriptions

  • Conclusions

Presets should be done at minimum the topic level (ex: consumer health). However, you can certainly go more granular. (ex; Site level presets or category level presets)

Advanced Options (**Your Prompts**) This is a very important part of your presets. This is where you can add specific written prompts to instruct the AI at the following levels of your article

• Title

• Introduction

• Meta Description

• Body of article (Extra Content Prompt)
