Your Brand Settings in Cuppa define how AI understands and represents your business across all generated content. This guide covers every setting and how it impacts your content quality.

Brand Settings are organized into several sections:

• Brand Voice - Your unique writing style and tone

• Basic Details - Category, language, and region

• Site Summary - What your brand is about

• Knowledge Sources - Additional context for AI

• AI Instructions - Custom rules for content generation

• GSC Connection - Google Search Console integration

💡 Pro tip: Settings marked as "auto-populated" come from Brand DNA extraction during onboarding. You can always refine them manually.

Brand Voice

Brand Voice is the most powerful setting for content consistency. It teaches AI to write exactly like you.

What It Does

When you create a Brand Voice, Cuppa analyzes your sample content to extract:

How to Create a Great Brand Voice

1. Choose representative content - Pick 3-5 pieces that truly represent your best writing

2. Use longer samples - 500+ word articles work better than short snippets

3. Include variety - Blog posts, how-tos, and thought leadership pieces

4. Avoid guest content - Only use content you or your team actually wrote

Adding Examples

You can provide examples in two ways:

Paste Text: Copy and paste the full content directly

• Best for: Content not published online, internal docs

• Preserves formatting

Add URLs: Provide links to published content

• Best for: Live blog posts, published articles

• Cuppa scrapes the content automatically

• URL must be publicly accessible

When Brand Voice Is Applied

Brand Voice guidelines are injected into every content generation request:

Default Language

Sets the primary language for:

• All generated content

Default Country/Region

Website Overview

A 2-4 sentence description of what your website/business does.

Good example:

Poor example:

"We make content."

Target Audience

Describe who you're writing for. Be specific about:

• Job titles/roles

• Pain points

• Experience level

• Goals they're trying to achieve

Good example:

"Content marketing managers at B2B SaaS companies with 50-500 employees. They need to produce 10-20 blog posts per month but have limited writer bandwidth. They care about SEO performance and brand consistency."

• Text Snippets - Key facts, statistics, company info

Per-Article Instructions

Can be added during article generation for one-off requirements:

This article is for our developer audience - be more technical.
Include code examples where relevant.
Reference our API documentation at docs.example.com.

Instruction Priority

When instructions conflict, this is the precedence order:

1. Per-article instructions (highest priority)

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Brand Voice take to create?

Usually 1-3 minutes. The AI analyzes your examples and extracts voice guidelines automatically.

Can I have multiple Brand Voices?

Currently one active Brand Voice per site. You can create a new one to replace the current voice. If you need more, we can help you add in extra prompting.

Can I delete a site that I've connected?

Yes, in brand settings tab at the bottom, you can delete a connection to a site. Just to be warned, when you delete the site, everything is deleted: Content plan, brand info, brand dna, etc. Give it up to 5 minutes to delete (we have a lot of data generally per brand).

Do settings affect existing content?

No. Settings only affect newly generated content. Existing articles remain unchanged.

How do I know if my settings are working?

Generate a test article and review it for:

• Correct tone and formality

• Appropriate audience targeting

• Accurate brand references

Can I export my Brand Voice settings?

Not currently, but this is on our roadmap.

Brand Voice Not Reflecting in Content

1. Ensure Brand Voice is set to Active

2. Check if you have conflicting AI Instructions

3. Try regenerating with "Use Brand Voice" explicitly enabled

GSC Not Syncing

1. Verify property is correctly selected

3. Allow 24-48 hours for initial data sync

Content Too Generic Despite Settings
